What is a compact articulated loader?

It's a small wheel loader that bends in the middle (articulated) instead of skid-steering. Compared with a skid steer, it turns without scuffing the ground or tearing up turf, gives better visibility and puts less stress on tires. Schäffer builds some of the most compact and powerful articulated loaders on the market, from about 2 to 9 tonnes.

Articulated loader or skid steer: which should I choose?

A skid steer turns by dragging its wheels, which is hard on lawns, pavers and tires. An articulated loader steers by pivoting, so it's gentler on surfaces, more stable on slopes and often more comfortable. For landscaping, agriculture, snow removal and finished sites, most of our clients prefer the articulated Schäffer.

What can I use a compact loader for?
